I can't believe how quickly Christmas has come and gone, I feel like I was still scrambling around shopping, and decorating my tree. I don't know what happened this year, but for the first time, I was still decorating my tree the night before Christmas. I tend to decorate with red and silver every year, and this year I wanted a change, so I looked for black bulbs. I had a hard time finding what I liked so I decided to glitter my own black. I really wish I was able to enjoy my tree decorated with wrapped package longer than just Christmas morning, but I do have the pictures to enjoy.
I had a wonderful Christmas with our family and am so joyful to celebrate each and every year with them.
I am also very happy to announce I received a new Nikon D5000. I can't wait to begin taking better quality pictures for my blog. I hope I can learn very quickly how to operate this "over my head" camera. This is my very first SLR. It was funny that I received only the camera on Christmas, and had to wait to receive the lens the following day on my birthday.
My wonderful friends and family at my 30th Surprise Birthday
Here a couple of things I made for Halloween this year. I am really bummed I did not get any better photos. A couple are off my phone. I also decorated a black tree with cut outs on my Cricut, but did not take any photos of it. I used the glow in the dark MS glitter, and used black lights around it. I will take photos of it next year.
In the jar, I bought fake vegetables, and painted them black, used Stickles and painted on some faces. I then stamped some of the Martha Stewart Halloween stamps onto my apathy jar. Stamp inks will wipe off with Windex.
Bought foam skulls added glue then sprinkled on Martha Stewart glitter, then sprayed with an acrylic to keep the glitter from falling off.
PS- Next year I will add glitter outside or in the garage. My rooms were all filled with glitter, and it's impossible to sweep or vacuum it up.
We recently had an 80th Surprise Birthday party for our Grandpa, who is a diehard San Diego Chargers fan. All guests wore Chargers clothing and we even hired the Chargers Band.
I made the table centerpieces and used mostly Sports Mania for the football items, and Wild Card for the HB. I used the Cuttlebug on the football and lightning bolt.
Close up of the grass paper I used to make a football field.
The invitations we used 80 as his age, and on the back we put his last name which the font was cut on Sure Cuts A Lot. I used the jersey from Sports Mania, and welded the shirts together. Printed the inside on Word (I even found the real Chargers font from http://www.dafont.com/), then cut it thru the Cricut.
I just received a phone call from my brother that he was heading over and needed me to make him a birthday card for his girlfriends Mom's birthday tonight. So I stopped working on my halloween decorations and we whipped up a card in about 10 mins. It really helps when someone asks for something specific, and since he liked a previous card we made it super quickly. In the inside we embossed with "Happy Birthday." The front pumpkin is the new Martha Stewart Halloween Stamps, and we embossed it. We also used the Cuttlebug to emboss a tin can.
I know I should be starting on my Christmas cards for this year, but I seem to never have time. I will post the one I made last year. We seem to have a lot to send out, so I can't make them to intricate.
I found this post at cricut.com of a lady who made something very similar to what I am posting so I scaplifted her idea. I loved it so much I tried to design it myself, and I feel I did it. I can't take credit for designing it but, I was proud of myself for designing it all in DS.
It's been a really busy couple of past weeks, I went to multiple concerts in a row first I saw AC/DC, so glad I got to see them. Then when I was there people out front offered my husband and I free tickets to Def Leopard and Poison (see Brett Michaels above) , when I arrived to claim my tickets at the box office they offered us 2nd row, and it was amazing. Third I saw LMFAO, my new favorite band, and when we were there my friends and I took a picture with the one of the lead singers. After all that I went to Vegas for the weekend for my brother g/f 21st birthday. Things are finally going to settle down, so I can have more time to create...well hopefully.
I can't believe it's already September, where has this year gone? It's dry and hot outside, and that means California wild fires. Luckily my husband was not sent out on the forest fires, but 3 of the engines at his work has been so he is now stuck at the station working OT. Oh well, the life of a firefighter and wife ;) I am so proud of him, and how courageous, and the way they put their lives on the line for everyday people. I just had to make a small comment since that is on my mind....
Now onto some of my recent scrapbook layouts. This past Christmas my mom bought me the cutest pink Sony camera, and she even had my name engraved...anyways, since day one it has taken the worst pictures. This is my 2nd Sony camera, and this is the 8.0 meg pix, and for some reason my old one that was only 5.0 took 10X's better pics. Of course Sony can't find anything wrong with it, so for now I tried my best in PS, but since I am a beginner, and I have no clue what I am doing this was my best. Hopefully I will buy a new camera soon. My brother's friend is a professional photographer for BMX rider and I need to get his advice on a new camera.
Hope you all enjoy my babbling, and onto the layouts.
I finally caved and bought the ATG gun from, Framing Supplies, since they had it the cheapest. I am such an online shopper for the lowest price, and everyone was talking about FS, but I thought it may be out there cheaper, but they had it lower than even Sam's Club.
So far I am loving. It really does last a while, and since I bought an entire box of tape hopefully it will encourage me to keep scrapin and card making.
I am so HAPPY, because I got the new PINK Cricut yesterday!!! My luck I thought it would be sold out, since it's a limited edition, and this past week it was on sale at Michael's. I wanted to call around first, and the first store I called closest to my home had it. Now my husband feels I should sell my old Cricut, but I always feel weird selling used items. So if anyone is interested I do have the Cricut Expression, that is about a year old.
I just had to post some pictures since it matches perfectly to my room.
So I decided I should show a couple things I have made. Please note my camera is not the best, and it's difficult to show the entire banner since it was a little long. The first banner I made was for Nasim's surprise birthday, it said "Happy Birthday."
After Michelle saw it she asked if I could make one for her friend's baby shower that could say "Double Trouble" since her friend was having twin boys.
So I am finally posting the pictures of my pink scrapbook room. Well it started off as "our office" and one day I had the brilliant idea to paint it pink since that is my favorite color, and from there it turned in to my "my scrapbook room." It's just so cheery and happy, and I feel you can be more creative when you look around and it's so bright. I love that is matches my pink laptop, pink phone, pink iPod, pink camera and so much more. Can you tell I am obsessed with pink?
